A new customer came to MSI wishing to develop a new line of green, natural cleaning products. This presented several challenges:

• Develop cleaning formulations that were truly effective and also green.
• Develop unique, attractive functional packaging for the complete product line
• Create sales samples within two weeks

In order to develop formulas, we involved True Green Blends to help with the formulation and product development. All of the formulations had to meet DFE * requirements and get DFE approval, so TGB created a line of products using all DFE approved ingredients, making this possible. What this means is that all products are free of dies and fragrances, a huge plus for those with allergies, and a real benefit to indoor air quality overall.

For packaging development we worked internally with our engineering department to ensure that potential package materials were compatible with all of the product ingredients. We utilized our great supplier base to generate ideas on the utility and also the look of the final packages.

We were able to create the needed materials to quickly turn around artwork and materials in the very tight time frame needed. In some cases the materials were produced in house and in others, the suppliers came through in a matter of just days. We made the tooling needed to create the finished blister cards in house. Having a fully functional machine shop right in our facility, allows us to quickly make prototypes and samples.

We pride ourselves on being able to respond quickly to the needs of our customers. We have extensive new product introduction experience, so we can help develop and introduce new products in weeks or months, where most companies take months or years. The most important result is that the samples are excellent quality and were shipped on time.
